White Wines
Pinot Grigio
A straw-yellow wine with a characteristic nose reminiscent
of acacia blossom. The flavour is dry and well-balanced.
An excellent aperitif that can also be served with light
hors d'oeuvres, consommés and pasta, egg-based dishes, white
meats and fish entrées. Serve at 10-12°C, uncorking the
bottle at table.
Traminer
A distinctive white wine with a straw-yellow colour and
a characteristically intense aroma that is redolent of roses.
The palate is flavoursome and full-bodied. A versatile wine
at table, it can accompany meat and fish dishes, or strong
cheeses. Recommended with sweet, air-cured ham. Serve at
10-12°C, uncorking the bottle at table.
Tocai
The classic Friulian aperitif. Straw-yellow in colour with
lemony highlights, it has a fragrant, fruit-rich and fairly
persistent nose. The attractive dry palate has a distinctive
almondy note. A fine accompaniment for lean starters, soups,
pasta and fish-based dishes. Serve at 12°C, uncorking the
bottle at table.
Sauvignon
A serious white wine that demands great care in vineyard
and cellar if it is to express its personality to the full.
The pale straw-yellow colour introduces a characteristic
nose of spicy vegetal notes and a fresh-tasting, balanced
palate. Excellent with air-cured ham, starters and fish
dishes with light sauces. Serve at 8-10°C, uncorking the
bottle at table.
Chardonnay
An elegant white wine with a pale straw-yellow colour and
a delicate nose with a characteristic fruity note of golden
delicious apples. The well balanced and velvety palate reveals
a lean, agile body. A delicious aperitif, it is also ideal
with lean starters, soups, country herb risottos and fish
dishes. Serve at 8-12°C, uncorking the bottle at table.
